Knit Summer Bucket Hat Size:
<> Head circumference: Child – 3/4 yo: 49-50 cm (19-20”)
<> Gauge: 20-21 stitches = 10 cm (4 inch)
<> 2 sts – 1 cm
<> 50 cm * 2 = 100 sts. Reduce by 25% (to make the hat fit better)= 75 sts
<> The final number of stitches must be a multiple of 8. The nearest multiple of 8 to 75 is 72 stitches.
<> For the ruffle, double the final number of stitches: 72 * 2 = 144 stitches.

Needles:
<>Circular and double-pointed knitting needles 3.5 mm (US 4).

Yarn:
<> Sirdar, Pure Cotton – 100% cotton. Color of your choice.
<> Weight Category – DK. Quantity – 60 grams. If you have difficulty to find aforementioned brand of yarn, use something else that will have about 170 m (185 yards) per 100 grams skein.
